Problems

Post#1 by mlpdel » 29 Jun 2024, 18:09

Hello, I have an Asus Eee PC 1005HA, I have installed Proteus 5 32-bit in an xfs partition and a swap partition and the truth is that it goes very well. other distros with kde go super slow and instead Porteus goes very well. I have changed the language to spanish and when I reboot it tells me that the system will boot in xfce, but it boots in kde, which is the desktop I want, I have changed it in the system application of Proteus as well as the language and the keyboard. Looking at the image I think everything is correct and should start in Spanish, but everything remains the same as newly installed.
I would appreciate your help.

How are you booting Porteus? How did you install Porteus? Does the file in your /porteus/changes have a current date? Can you post your porteus.cfg file's GRAPHICAL MENU entry?

Hello, thanks for responding, there are many porteu folders and there is no changes file as such and the same thing happens with the porteus.cfg file. Start portesu from the laptop's hd, then install porteus on the laptop

Changes you make to the booted system are usually saved in the /porteus/changes folder. Not having one may explain why your changes are not being saved.

Since your Porteus boot partition is not the system's boot partition maybe you need to denote the drive your menu's changes=porteus is on.

I think the forum's /img tag is only for images stored on the forum and since users..... PostImage.org provides image links to files uploaded to it.
