A lady frenemy may or may not visit the forum in the future. Orca – German, living in South Africa for 20 years or so. Few years ago she had a custom computer built for her, with her input:

• Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX 1.0
• AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X Desktop Processors

She's an Arch fanatic and has had trouble with her favorite Arch Linuxes on it: EndeavorOS (EOS) MATE and Manjaro MATE. I think it's just issues between Arch and AMD stuff, but am not sure. MINT & Sparky Linux had issues also.

I try to help her – a hardheaded woman for sure, e.g. won't try Fedora because its too commercial (she's like a former commie or something!?!), and literally hates Ubuntu and everything connected to it. Radical Linux user tho, since about 2012 I think (??).

Sent her links on how to update her BIOS yesterday, but she probably won't try. Just sent her links to Porteus MATE download, and to this forum today. Just a heads up in case she gives Porteus a try...

Karmi washes hands... ;)

Yeah, she may never show up. Said this morning – 'gonna install and check Porteus soon-ish' but I'll believe it when I see it. Told her to check here if she has problems... Thanks Ed_P.
