WiFi quit working
Well I went back to my first Linux which was Slax. Back then I went from Slax to Porteus but what going with Porteus I went back to see it would work. All I did after I install it to USB is setup up with the Network and it was there SpecturmSetup-E2 after that I ran the Web Browser then type Porteus Froum and I'm here typing this message. Maybe one day I will be back.
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

Slax has change since the last time I use it but it works with my Network. By the way I'm using the Slackware 64bit version on a 64gb USB format Fat 32. I know the last time it updated was 10/9/2023.
Now all I need to do is add programs I like VLC Media Player and LibreOffice there might be more.

At this point Jack I suspect your problem was a dirty USB connection, either on the Porteus USB drive or the USB port on your pc. I have that problem with my old Windows 7 pc periodically and resolve it by crawling on the floor and touching the port in the back of the pc with a folded piece of emory paper then reconnecting the USB cable, which I also touch with the emory paper. I don't want to wear out the old wires so I don't sand them that hard or long and the light cleaning works.

I didn't do anything all I know it just started working. I made another of the USB porteus and they both work.
And another thing I found Porteus Mate v3.2.2 and I try it so I now a old Porteus Mate just in case. One thing I did now it don't need is the USB WiFi Plugin it like all the other new Linux Distro out there. I might start using it and glad I didn't format it. I had to upgrade FireFox so far.

You don't remember removing the Porteus USB drive and trying other USB drives? Their wires used the computer's USB port's wires also and probably temporarily wore some of the oxidation off for you.
