[SOLVED]How to disable autologin and guest account?

1. Create a user of my own. (No guest or root default provided) You need a root default or else you cannot access the root account when needed. Like you need doing the below. You can just do the following: Change passwords for guest and root to something more secure. Then edit manually the files /e...

^ You don't have a Main Menu Settings / Display entry? At least in XFCE I do, and KDE should do also. It looks like this in XFCE https://abload.de/img/displax-exampleuok8v.png See? Currently the resolution is FullHD and the refresh rate 60 Hz. Sorry to be of no more help, since I do not use KDE I ca...

What DE are you using? (DE = Desktop Environment, eg. Openbox, XFCE, KDE…) What is your screen resolution and refresh rate? Have you checked if the refresh rate in Porteus is as high as the ones in the other Live Distros you mentioned? If not, using a different font would solve nothing. When you use...

How to strip (a module)?

How can I reduce weight of a module safely? What can safely be removed are unneeded language files for the GUI. When the GUI is a complex one - like with The GIMP - removing all unnecessary ones will make quite some difference. They are to be found in /usr/share/locale . Also, using usm, at times a...

To stop auto max brightness on booting

I presume you speak about a notebook or laptop here. I wrote myself a script that can change the brightness from the CLI. You need to be root to change it. # setscreenbrightness.sh /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness is set to 0 As you can see, when started without parameter it just tells yo...

bis: sbopkg and its gui sbopkg_gui to build from source easily

Sounds neat, francois. Why not provide the fixed sbopkg and sbopkg_gui modules? By fix I mean these: [sbopkg] Replace in file /usr/sbin//sbopkg the expression: upgradepkg --reinstall --install-new $OLDPKG%$INSTDIR/$INSTPKG by: spkg -u --reinstall --install-new $PKG # sbopkg C for accepting to create...

[W]hat did you mean by other package managers? Obviousdly I cannot speak for francois or others. But unsurprisingly Slackware has its own package managers. https://docs.slackware.com/slackbook:package_management https://www.slackbook.org/html/package-management.html http://go2linux.garron.me/linux/...

I really appreciate if anyone at least edit slonly dead Europa mirror on most common .iso files.
It could be fixed if one would remove slonly from usm, which is possible since it is a mere script.

Then again, for doing so you need to have basic scripting abilities which most do not have.

Do you have a medical background Rava. Are you having mental issues? Beginning dementia perhaps? And I am not joking here, your memory seems to be affected. I already told the forum about my medical background 21 days ago and you replied with  Wow!! I'm impressed Rava . :happy62: That was a ...
