Run script after boot

To that end an option you may try. Create a desktop file that executes your script or command. Make it executable, test it, then copy it to /etc/xdg/autostart folder. rc.local / touchpad problem (Post by Ed_P #60506) Thanks Ed_P, it is an elegant way to solve similar "launch after X" problems. :good:

Only it works inside X, then it gives "cannot open display" error. Also it says that the I can only use "loa...

[SOLVED] cheatcodes not working on porteus.cfg

I solved my problem by using another way : rootcopy folder which is well explained here : https://www.porteus.org/tutorials/26-general-info-tutorials/112-howto-use-the-rootcopy-directory.html. If you create folder structure of "rootcopy/usr/bin/" and put a shell script which includes #!/bin/sh setxk...

[SOLVED] cheatcodes not working on porteus.cfg

Thanks for reply.
1. I checked that tr is valid.
2. For the second option : In my Porteus, US keyboard comes by default. So I could not understand whether cheatcode works or not. But the first option does not work again :(

[SOLVED] Shell script stops and ask root password but it does not work !

just FYI, from 5.0rc2 onwards the sudo password has been configured to ask for the target users password. ie the root password for root.. in any case, as beny says, su works just as well in a script: su -c <command> and it's best to change the root password to something more secure ;) In the future...
