bundle - Zoom for Porteus 5.0rc1

I tested it on Porteus 5.0rc2. The module from the MediaFire link above didn't work at all. The module from the 'bundles' application in system settings did allow me to log in and text-chat but would not allow video connection, requiring update. Luckily, all that needed doing was to update the conte...

Porteus v5.0rc1 problems

Volume icon on boot shows a cross mark, with Device as "Default". Becomes normal when device selected as HDA Intel PCH. Some conflict with Pulse installation. raja , this happens (about volume icon) in Openbox DE? Yes, this happens for OpenBox DE. Volume icon is crossed out on boot and volume contr...

USM Error in Porteus 5

Yeah, I found about it too. Main problem is, I found, that it doesn't recognise when a file is unavailable at the expected location, creates an empty one and then tries to decompress it. This is the gzip: /var/usm/alien/CHECKSUMS.md5.gz: unexpected end of file type of error. It would be great if the...

Porteus-5.0-rc1-Openbox with ZST compression

I will be a huge fan of zstd. I am playing around with older laptops (early Core2Duo era) and switching to zstd makes a measurable difference of about 25% reduction in boot time (from ~20 to ~15 between boot menu selection and desktop). Installed on the standard 80GB internal HDD. I have installed t...

OpenBox and keyboard/font/codepage bug

Err... Yes, I should have made it clear that I understand it was rc1. It was present in final 4.0 too, though.

If you are saying it was already found and fixed in the current development release - that's great to hear!

Thank you very much again for looking into this, ncmprhnsbl.

OpenBox and keyboard/font/codepage bug

Thank you! :Yahoo!: How the hell did you figure it out? :worthy: The problem is triggered when "grp:switch" is present in "toggle_option" in gxkb.cfg, this is why removing the file allows gxkb to keep working fine - it is not present in the file generated by gxkb by default. As far as I understand, ...

OpenBox and keyboard/font/codepage bug

Strange, I set the config via Porteus Config Centre, then via porteus(...).cfg, then via xorg.conf.d/(...).conf but didn't look into gxkb.cfg yet - and it was the default one. See https://imgur.com/a/MmZoqwP However, changing this to PL did hot help at all - the issue is still the same. New informat...

OpenBox and keyboard/font/codepage bug

I love Porteus for the 2 older laptops I have lying around. It makes them boot dozens of times faster than any other desktop distribution (or Windows, for that matter) :Yahoo!: . I also love the OpenBox version the most (for looks AND speed), but it seems to be the one I can't use due to bugs that m...
