Display settings resetting/guiexec not functioning

When I boot up Porteus 3.2.2 on my Kangaroo attached to a TV, the display is at the correct resolution (although it reverts to 1280 x 720 if the TV is turned off and on again), whereas Porteus 5.0 boots it to 1280 x 720 even though the resolution is set to 1360 x 768 and the session is saved.

BLUETOOTH

The module seems to work fine in XFCE -- thanks! I activated the daemon and then your module; when I opened Bluetooth Adapters, an error warned I might not be able to use the Bluetooth network (something about dbus), but I was able to change the adapter's visibility and then to connect with the Mana...

BLUETOOTH

Thanks, I will test it now. I would suggest that the module be included in the XFCE iso or at the very least included in the modules distributed via ftp -- shouldn't have to undertake research in order to get common hardware working!

BLUETOOTH

I had forgotten that bluetooth support takes the form of a daemon activated either by a cheatcode or in the Settings Centre -- the Bluetooth Adapters application reports that none are installed (as opposed to warning that the daemon is not running). I was mistaken -- bluetooth works in KDE (,MATE, a...

Bluetooth for KDE in Porteus 5.0

my module may include extraneous packages, libnm-qt-0.9.8.4-x86_64-1 wouldn't be needed for blueman ... strange things sometimes get pulled in.. i'll have a look at making blueman for xfce libnm is identified as a runtime dependency of blueman at https://github.com/blueman-project/blueman/blob/mast...

Bluetooth for KDE in Porteus 5.0

I thought that when I located "Bluetooth Adapters" and it said there weren't any that that could be relied upon. You're right -- KDE supports bluetooth once the daemon is activated; my module must have turned it on. Since I don't want to use KDE, but XFCE, my problem remains; turning on the daimon i...

Bluetooth for KDE in Porteus 5.0

rchase , blueman is not necessary for KDE, because KDE already has bluez, bluez-qt and bluedevil packages installed. ... You can either start bluetooth from the menu or you can use the "bluetooth" cheatcode to start bluetooth during bootup. Except that doesn't work -- no bluetooth adapters are foun...

BLUETOOTH

To the best of my knowledge, bluetooth has never worked, at least not in xfce -- it's common hardware. It was suggested years ago that kde was the most likely flavor to support bluetooth and I succeeded in composing a working module, which I have`posted; ncmprhnsbl has posted one for openbox. The qu...

BLUETOOTH

What's up with bluetooth? Fandom said it was going on his "to do" list -- three-and-a-half-years ago. I downloaded and merged the packages shown as runtime dependencies for "blueman"; the resulting module appears to work in KDE and I have uploaded it, but nothing happens in XFCE. What needs to be do...

Display settings resetting/guiexec not functioning

This has been a problem in multiple flavors of Porteus (though I'm paying attention primarily to xfce) through multiple versions: despite unchecking "Configure new displays when connected", Porteus consistently resets various display settings. Although my laptop is connected to an external display d...

Bluetooth for KDE in Porteus 5.0

I built this module out of the packages listed as runtime dependencies of https://github.com/blueman-project/blueman not found in Porteus 5.0rc1 xfce. It doesn't seem to do anything in xfce (when I included the packages listed as necessary to build blueman as well, both blueman and "bluetooth adapte...

Segmentation fault in USM

SBO finally updates -- updating the slackware databases appears to work now, but usm -u all scrolls all text out of the terminal window then says "segmentation fault". Upon trying to download packages, usm reports it can't find LIBS.TXT after all and fails.

No access to LAN through Thunar

Thanks -- I forget to remove one of the slashes; is some useful purpose served by displaying three after "smb:"?
