Warpintator Request

which porteus version are you using? (4.0, 5.0rc?) and which DE? (because cinnamon has some of the necessary deps already) just for reference, this is what archinux lists as deps: gtk3 (in 002-xorg(5.0)) libnm (in most DEs(5.0)) python-cryptography python-gobject (in 002-xorg(5.0)) python-grpcio pyt...

Unable to boot Porteus 5.0 rc3 in Legacy mode

thanks raja , here's a quick one to try: p-i-f-w.zip i just changed the syslinux.com and syslinux.exe files and didn't touch the installer.bat for now, so it's 32bit only still(i'm guessing windows 64 is still backwards compatible with this) The batch file to be modified, find system architecture, i...

List of all libraries in Porteus 05-devel.xzm?

Well to be honest, I did not see all thr libraries names listed there. A simple check is that SDL2 is missing in the packages folder, but when checking for shared library inside /usr/lib64, I see libSDL*.so.* /usr/lib64 is the live system, which is all activated modules combined.. in this case libS...

Porteus-v5.0rc3 x86_64 bug reports

I have а problem making encrypted (ext4, reisefs) file with Porteus SaveFile manager. Тhe file is generated, but then it is not recognized during boot !? I think it does not depend on DE. yep, there is some problem with this .. porting this function to python/pygobject from bash is proving a bit tr...

List of all libraries in Porteus 05-devel.xzm?

if you activate it: ls /mnt/live/memory/images/05-devel.xzm/var/lib/pkgtools/packages or mount it: ls /mnt/loop/var/lib/pkgtools/packages will give you a list of the slackware packages included, and each entry is a txt file that has a list of the files(libs included) that each package contains plus ...

what can you do presently in uxterm/xterm is: middleclick paste of highlighted text from anywhere.. provided you're using a mouse with this function..

Cheatcodes and removing USB

in theory what you're doing should work, but apparently not :) something to do with way /changes is mounted, even with changes-ro.. i'm guessing.. a way around this is to make a module of your changes folder: (as root) #dir2xzm /path/to/changes /tmp/changes.xzm mv /tmp/changes.xzm /path/to/porteus/m...

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

Maybe AppImage doesn't like fuse3 :D hi in porteus 5 this app work but i have added first this:/mnt/live/memory/images/001-core.xzm/var/log/packages/fuse-2.9.9-x86_64-3 in porteus-5.0-rc2&3, we've made a symlink "fusermount" to fusermount3, and i've had no problems with appimages. the only time i'v...

Create a bootable iso file?

there's also the builtin make_iso.sh in the /porteus folder of the iso which pretty much does what Ed has described..
so..
extract the iso (however)
do what you want
run:

Code: Select all

/path/to/extracted/iso/porteus/make_iso.sh /path/to/new/iso/new_name.iso

Porteus-v5.0rc3 x86_64 bug reports

well, it''s even easier than that.. while the graphical installer program doesn't allow installation while using copy2ram, it's quite simple to install porteus without it, while using copy2ram, by doing it manually: as root: mount the ISO mount the target drive (presuming it's formatted to desired f...

hi neko just for the record kernel build gui do not work on porteus rc3,if you click on the program link nothing happen, but you can start it via run the script into the directory:/usr/local/sbin/guimkKernel,no problem for Aporteus. mkKernel-21.07.02-noarch-1.xzm a possible easy fix (for Porteus)(ot...
