Porteus 5.0rc2 /var/log/messages

In the past logrotate used a file in /etc/ named logrotate.conf. But that file isn't in 5.0rc2. are you sure? $ ls /mnt/live/memory/images/001-core.xzm/etc/logrotate* /mnt/live/memory/images/001-core.xzm/etc/logrotate.conf /mnt/live/memory/images/001-core.xzm/etc/logrotate.d: syslog wpa_supplicant

What chances do I have to make it work and add the icon in the tray?
can you try to start blueman-manager(i think that's the right one) from a terminal and see what messages result?

Porteus 5.0 RC2 bug reports

Unfortunately it didn't work. i've found another way: use consolekit manager: dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit /org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Manager org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.Manager.Suspend boolean:true which, for /opt/porteus-scripts/extra/gtk-logout.py line 47 tr...

But, do the mirrors reflect rc versions of files?
no .. the official server and it's mirrors remain at RC1 for now.. hopefully, we'll sort something out before RC3..

Porteus 5.0 RC2 bug reports

When I launch the command: dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest="org.freedesktop.UPower" /org/freedesktop/UPower org.freedesktop.UPower.Suspend seems upower(the newer version we're using) doesn't have a "suspend" action (if this is anything to go by: https://upower.freedesktop.org/docs/UPower.ht...

enable automatic login

The user "guest" is hard coded in the initrd.xz. When Porteus boots, it's looking only for "root" or "guest", it knows nothing about other users. The only way to change that would be to rebuild the initrd.xz, actually, there's nothing in linuxrc to do with login.. there is one line referring to gue...

Porteus 5.0 sed

so you're saying that when editing a file -i (--in-place) wasn't needed? don't think that's anything we've done... can't see how an alias would work..
can only think that it's a change in behaviour for sed itself..
ie. not our bug, more likely an upstream feature/change..

The Porteus Save File Manager doesn't allow a Location to be specified, either by manually entering the Location or searching for a location, when Creating a New savefile. It works in RC1.

The Create New Save Container window has been redesigned.
yup, seems to be missing some key functionality..

@neko, nice job, very interesting , thank you. Just now found "changes" were not saved in he module prepared by Porteus setting centre. May be the script is incomplete. looks like the changes work differently with this overlayfs: /mnt/live/memory/changes/upperdir looks like where the live changes ar...

Should Porteus prevent system permission changes when rootcopy is stored in non-POSIX file system?

the thing is: Porteus already provides support for non-POSIX rootcopy not actively preventing does not equal support. from: http://www.porteus.org/faq.html#twenty3 I'm using /porteus/rootcopy for adding files to the live filesystem and all of the permissions are messed up. When the /porteus/rootcop...
